“Just take that.”

From the book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

~

It was a foggy night and the boy and the horse were in the woods.
Scared, the boy said to the horse:

"I can't see a way through."

And the horse said:

"Can you see your next step?"

And the boy said:

"Yes"

The horse replied:

"Just take that."

All of the time that we look at a goal, that we look at the future, at the end-game, we look at how long that journey might take, and we tend to feel overwhelmed.

Why can't we worry less about what is yet to come? Why can't we recognise that maybe we don't need to worry that much about how far away it is?

And instead, acknowledge that with each step, we simply get closer to where we want to be.

And that all we need is to focus on our next step.

And “just take it."
