The great shift.

Changes in global capital means growth tops profit as the most impactful strategic agenda.

Most companies are built to behave under the profit playbook but are expected to behave differently (execute the growth playbook).

Do not fall under by demanding a growth mindset while your team is structured to operate under a profit playbook.

Implementing this structural change is, at its core, an engineering challenge. To re-organize and build a structure capable of performing growth work, you can start by prioritising five areas:

1- Organize around outcomes, not outputs;
2- Hire and cluster stars in roles of enormous impact (ideally 20% of your workforce);
3 - Use impact weighted compensation to make the most of limited salary budgets;
4 - Rip out lines of reporting and open lines of communication;
5 - Push power to the edges.
